Monica Shah, Psy.D.
Staff Psychologist

I received my doctoral degree in school psychology from St. John’s University, before which I worked as a certified school psychologist in British Columbia, Canada. During my pre-doctoral internship, I completed a dual placement at CBT/DBT Associates and Academics West, providing therapeutic services in both clinical and school settings. I completed my post-doctoral fellowship at the Center for Anxiety in Manhattan, where I expanded my provision of CBT- and DBT-based treatment to clients requiring intensive outpatient services.

I have trained extensively in CBT, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder and social anxiety disorder, and I have comprehensive training in DBT and DBT-informed treatment. I am also an Associate Fellow of the Albert Ellis Institute, where I received specialized training in rational-emotive behavior therapy (REBT), and I have trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Social justice is key in my practice through a commitment to continual learning, considering the interaction between individuals and systems, and centering each client’s unique identity. I have served children, adolescents, adults, and families, and my clinical and advocacy work have spanned both mental health and special education.
