DeVante Cunningham,
Ph.D, MPH
Staff Psychologist

I completed my undergraduate studies and earned a master’s degree in public health with a concentration in health policy, law, and ethics at the University of Virginia (UVA). During my time at UVA, my research focused on examining the stress of Black graduate and professional students at a predominantly white institution. I continued my education at Montclair State University, where I earned my doctoral degree in clinical psychology. My dissertation explored the impact of racial micro-aggressions on mental health and academic self-efficacy among Black college students and explored whether mentoring relationships act as a buffer.

My clinical training includes a predoctoral internship at the Margaret Cochran Corbin (Manhattan) VA Hospital and a postdoctoral fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center. At Columbia, I specialized in the individual and group treatment of anxiety, mood, and personality disorders.
