Lavinia Marchis, Psy.D., Staff Psychologist
I am a licensed psychologist and a certified school psychologist with experience in providing evidence based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Rational Emotional Behavioral (REBT) and Dialectical Behavioral therapies (DBT) for children, adolescents and adults. I work with a wide range of psychological and emotional difficulties including anxiety, depression, ADHD, relational and family problems, as well as behavioral challenges. I am dedicated to tailoring my approach to each client’s unique needs and background.
I earned my doctoral degree in school psychology from St. John’s University, where I received intensive clinical training in the provision of CBT and REBT with adults, while simultaneously working in school settings, where I gained expertise in the administration of psychoeducational testing and psychological counseling with children of all ages. My doctoral dissertation focused upon the relationship between irrational thinking, emotional intelligence and resilience cross-culturally. Since graduate school, I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, including outpatient clinics and public schools in Connecticut and New York. I have been trained in DBT and am currently working within an elementary school setting, providing school-based DBT. I can provide treatment in Spanish.
